Minutes of the Arden Registration Committee, September 14, 2006
In attendance: Ruth Bean , Debbie Theis, Cecilia Vore (convenor) , Natalie Hubbard, Beth Stevenson
The meeting was convened at 7:40 p.m. by Cecilia Vore. The first order of business was to elect a chairperson. Cecilia Vore was chosen to continue in this capacity.
Cecilia began by giving a brief review of the role and responsibilities of this committee. The primary focus of the meeting was to go over the yearly calendar and delegate responsibilities for attending Advisory Committee, welcoming new residents, preparing and running the annual elections, and attending Town Meetings. The committee contact the various committee chairs to see if they have convened and who has been selected as chairperson
Welcome Packets were assigned to various members of the committee to distribute. Welcome packets include information about ordinances such as tree-cutting and parking. This type of information is needed by new residents as soon as they move in. It was suggested this information be shared by the trustees at the time of lease-signing, rather than waiting for the new resident to receive a welcome packet.
In preparation for the November elections the committee plans to meet 10/1 to review lists of eligible voters. The ballots for the budget and Assessors will be mailed around 10/10. Cecelia will confirm the date with Danny Schweers. The tentative date for counting the ballots is November 1st .
